Hollywood Hills House
Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, this 5,500 square foot modern house underwent a complete renovation for an entrepreneurial client who appreciates clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and a modernist material palette. Originally built in 1978, the house has been transformed into an art gallery-inspired modern residence.
Upon entering the double-height foyer, the breathtaking view lines through the center of the house to the infinity-edge pool overlooking Los Angeles. Every wall has been rebuilt to create open-plan shared spaces for the family and to reconfigure the private spaces within the house. The maximized glazing, including windows and multi-sliding doors, offers hill-top views and allows for crisp and abundant sunlight to fill every space. The high-volume spaces and restrained details with sensual textures deliver serenity and comfort for elevated living.
Meticulously selected and arranged lighting and furnishings, combined with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, come together to create an ambiance reminiscent of a modern art gallery. The modern kitchen and breakfast area exude effortless elegance through timeless sophistication. Designed with the family in mind, this space provides the perfect setting to enjoy a delicious breakfast together and prepare for the day ahead in style. From the sleek finishes to the carefully curated appliances, every detail has been considered to ensure its refined atmosphere. The sculptural Plinto dining table and artful Cloud lighting, set against a backdrop of Panda marble, create a dreamy dining area, perfect for special family moments. The powder room ensures a rejuvenating moment with green-veined Calacatta marble contrasting with a black Marquina marble vanity.
The On the Rocks sectional sofa in the living area, with its geometric seating landscape and absence of rigid structure, softens and enlivens the rectilinear modern design. Finally, the ethereal and ever-shifting forms of the clouds are gracefully mirrored on the tranquil surface of the infinity pool, bestowing a sense of fluidity and motion to the scene. This modern house provides an elevated living experience that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living
